In the weeks since the Walleye Grill closed, the Sun Day has received dozens of emails and phone calls from Sun City residents asking if there’s anything the paper can do to help reopen the Walleye Grill. What’s really being asked is not if the Sun Day itself can do anything – it can’t – but if it can be used by the community to express the general disappointment to the board in enough numbers so the board may reconsider their decision. In this way, perhaps the Sun Day can be of some use. This said, we will publish as many letters sent to us (with the intention to be published) about the Walleye Grill closing as we are able. On the contrary, the Sun Day will also accept letters from those who feel the board made the correct decision, or a statement from the board itself explaining the closing in better detail. The latter I don’t expect anytime soon, as legal counsel put a gag on the board and Wentworth Management in regard to speaking to members of the media.
