HUNTLEY – A public hearing regarding the proposed Centegra Hospital Huntley has been set for 10 a.m. Wednesday, Feb. 16 at Huntley Village Hall.
“Since we announced our plans for a new full-service acute-care hospital at Haligus Road and Reed Road on the existing healthcare campus in Huntley, we’ve seen tremendous support from the community,” said Centegra Chief Executive Officer, Michael S. Eesley. “That’s why we decided to request a public hearing on our project. We want to give our many supporters the opportunity to learn more about our plans and to share their enthusiasm.”
The public hearing is conducted by the Illinois Department of Public health pursuant to the Illinois Health Facilities Planning Act. The hearing is open to the public and will afford an opportunity for parties with interest to present written or verbal comment relevant to the project. According to state officials, all allegations or assertions should be relevant to the need for the proposed project and be supported with two copies of documentation or materials that are printed or typed on standard letter-sized paper.
For more information on the hearing, call 217-782-3516 or 800-547-0466 for the hearing impaired only.
Local government officials will showcase the project and its many positive impacts on the local economy.
“We’re looking forward to it,” said Huntley Mayor Chuck Sass. “Community residents have been very enthusiastic since plans were announced in mid-December.”
Centegra submitted a Certificate of Need application to build a 360,000 square-foot, 128-bed facility named Centegra Hospital-Huntley. Centegra purchased the land in Huntley four years ago and has created a long-term plan for responsible development of the site.
