Starting off this week’s column is a great one from our good friend and neighbor, Emma Burns, who relates this embarrassing experience. “One day I left the supermarket and drove home without the groceries, which were left in the basket at the drive-up. When I reached the house, about five miles away, I remembered! Thankfully, the groceries were still there waiting for me. And, the worst part of it, I was only in my forties!” Well, Emma, that just proves you are never too young for a “geezer moment.”
Marcia and her husband went out for breakfast. He asked her if she was trying to keep the front of her shirt clean. When she asked why he asked that, he replied, “I believe you have it on backwards.”
My wife Judy asked me to help her find her eyeglasses. She said she’s looked everywhere, retraced her steps, but no luck finding them. I said, “Check the top of your head.”
Finally, my golfing buddy Jim said to me, “I can’t remember being so absent-minded.”
I’m still waiting for one from you. I know you have “moments.” Send them to me at greengeezer9@comcast.net. I look forward to hearing from you.
