The wonders of the fresh air in spring
Make the birds and my heart sing
Gone are the snow and the weather so cold
Suddenly the weather changes and behold!
The spring appears with warm fresh air
And all God’s creatures large and small
Celebrate!
Robin’s appear at the beginning of spring
Digging for worms and to sing
Their orange breasts are welcome sight
The robin’s day continues till the start of night
The earth is warming
And groups are forming
To celebrate the arrival of spring
Children are playing with their coats open wide
Jumping and splashing in the puddles side to side
Hoping that Mother will allow them to play
In the yard after dark, but Mother would say
NO WAY!!
Housewives dash out to hang clothes
Golfers pray to improve and play like a pro
Gardeners are browsing through their books
Farmers are still pulling hay with hooks
Friends are often like a breath of fresh air
No matter what life brings you
They will always be there
To stay with you through the dark
And walk with you out to the sun filled park
I have such a friend whose name is Shirl
Our friendship has continued since we were girls
Through these 50 years she’s
Helped me see the goodness of life
She laughs with me to get through times of strife
I give thanks to the Lord up above
Whose given me this special friend to love
