A church campus from Carillon in Plainfield will have Sunday services at Meadowview Lodge in Sun City and hopes to get into the renovated sales center as soon as it is ready. Without a hint to our Community in their months of negotiation, the Sun City Board has signed a contract with the church for the first 3 months.
The homeowners did not learn of this rental until a recent flyer in a local paper announced the church’s launching in Sun City on April 10. After coming from Kansas last year, interning for the Community Church at the Carillon in Plainfield, Pastor Perry Martin is now a renter in our Sun City community.
According to the Carillon’s newsletter, which was published nine months ago, the members of their church were encouraged to “Please pray with us for the success of this project, that God will connect Perry and Becky with the right people in Huntley, that Del Webb will be open to giving them the space they need for celebration services and that they reach their financial goals.”
Also stated in the newsletter in the IMPACT section was that Carillon has pledged $348,418 to their church in the next 2 years.
The next Board of Directors Meeting, open to all residents, will be held in the Prairie Lodge, Drendel Ballroom on Wednesday, April 27 at 1 p.m. Please attend and let your voice be heard.
