There’s nothing that I’d rather be
Than what I am, a bumblebee!
I buzz around from bloom to bloom,
Spreading pollen as I zoom.
I sip the nectar, then I fly
And add new blooms to my supply.
My problem is with humankind,
The folks who always seem to mind
When I show up upon a daisy,
The sight of which just drives them crazy.
They seem to think I’m not a Bee,
But just some mean old Wasp, you see.
But I ain’t no Wasp, and I won’t sting
If you just let me do my thing.
Just lemme drink that juice and fly
To spread that pollen far and nigh.
The net result is lots more blooms
To brighten up your yards and rooms.
I’m plump and round and kinda cute,
Dressed up in stripes on a furry suit.
I work on days both dry and muggy,
So swat me not . . . that drives me buggy!
