Dim-witted humans thought we were eradicated,
but, as usual, they miscalculated.
We are considered the scourge of the earth,
After many years, we’ve experienced a rebirth.
We’re copious worldwide, resistant to insecticides,
and are reviled by the rank and file.
Though our return is a cause for concern,
We’ve just been in exile all the while.
Although we’re just tiny parasites,
Grown men and women recoil in fright
and panic at our mere sight
As we wield our considerable might.
Humans will spend any amount to make us go poof.
We’ve even made exterminators recession proof.
Hiding away in dark places behind walls,
Our presence can close shopping malls.
Tis said we don’t harbor germs,
Yet, we do make grownups squirm.
What makes people think they’re so smart
If they can’t make little ole bedbugs like us depart?
