This year’s summer trip to the Koplos’ condo in Vail, Colorado proved to be a very eventful vacation indeed! My husband, Nick, and I were joined by two of our children and their respective mates as we hiked along roaring creeks, traveled to silver mines, and visited a pass at 12,000-feet elevation, where my son and I engaged in a snowball fight!
The highlight of our vacation, however, came as a result of our daughter’s suggestion to renew all our wedding vows. After our children said their own personally worded vows as couples, Nick and I celebrated our 42nd anniversary, as we promised to hold our love steadfast for each other in our senior years.
The setting could not have been more perfect!
After an awe-inspiring gondola ride to the 10,000-foot level of Vail Mountain, we all traveled by foot, small bouquets in the ladies’ hands, to a naturally formed outdoor “chapel” with the Mount of the Holy Cross at 14,000 feet high, forming the backdrop for our ceremonies.
The air was crisp, the sky was Colorado blue, and this was a Rocky Mountain High!
