The Springfield, Illinois Park District recently held its 35th annual Illinois Senior Olympics. Competition is held for seniors age 50 years and up in events ranging from Archery to Track. The State Games are used to qualify athletes wishing to participate in the National Games.

The Sun City Stingray Swim Club was represented by Len Lencioni in the swimming competition. He was able to earn gold medals in the 500 yard, 200 yard, 100 yard freestyle events, and a bronze medal in the 50 yard freestyle. He also scored a gold medal in the 200 yard individual medley swim.
The Stingray Swim Club encourages all our Sun City neighbors with an interest in water recreation to join us. We offer a low impact Saturday morning session which combines water exercise and lap swimming led by Coach Chris Hinde. The Stings are also looking forward to the upcoming indoor Masters swimming competition season.
