Here’s one from fellow tennis player Joyce Fik. Joyce writes:
“On Tuesday I was notified by the Huntley library that the book I had put on hold had arrived. I went to the shelf and retrieved my book. I then proceeded to the self check-out, which I always do. I scanned my card and followed the directions to scan the barcode on my book. I scanned the code and the screen read SORRY. I scanned it again and it repeated SORRY. I stood there with a puzzled look on my face. The librarian observed me and said she thought it had gone through because she heard the beep. I replied the screen keeps saying SORRY. With that, I then realized my own stupidity. We both started to chuckle. The title of my book was SORRY.”

Before leaving for a bike ride one evening, I told my husband that I had my cell phone with me. After doing about two miles, I started heading home, as the temperature was dropping and the sun was going down. For some reason, I checked my pockets and realized I couldn’t find my cell phone. Fearing the worse, I started back-tracking my route as fast as I could. Unfortunately, I didn’t find the phone and continued home. Then I started thinking. Did I really grab my phone on the way out? I didn’t remember putting it in my pocket. As soon as I got home, I ran and checked my purse. That being the last place I remembered seeing it. And guess what? There it was. Needless to say I was very relieved, but really wondering if I was beginning to lose it. But the good thing was that I doubled my exercise that night.
