Q: I’ve used the Model Reports, but what other assessment resources are available?
A: Each township in which Sun City is located has a website with some of the same, but also additional, information as found on the Model Reports. Those websites can be accessed for information about the selected house from the Model Report or by logging into the Township Assessor’s website directly. The Township and County Assessor’s websites have more detailed information for residents to review.
Q: What is the “Supervisor of Assessments Equalized Assessed Value”?
A: The state property tax code requires that the Supervisor of Assessments apply an equalization factor to all property within a township to make assessment levels uniform among the counties’ several townships. The factor can increase the valuation or decrease it or leave it unchanged. The “Supervisor of Assessments Equalized Value” is a property’s recorded valuation after the equalization factor is applied. This is the value used to calculate a property’s tax.
