Q: With other groups becoming involved in addressing property assessments and property tax issues, what is the future of the Sun City Property Assessment Council?
A: After seven years of providing Sun City residents important information about assessments via the Model Reports and Neighborhood Presentations, the Sun City Property Assessment Council disbanded effective 12/31/2011 and discontinued it services.
Q: As SunCPAC has disbanded, what will happen to all the information it provided Sun City residents?
A: Due to other responsibilities including health and family obligations, all members of SunCPAC have resigned, and it is effectively disbanded. The Sun City Property Assessment Council has provided a valuable service to Sun City residents. If there are those in Sun City that would like to restore SunCPAC prior to the next assessment season, they should contact Mr. Rich Wille, a Sun City resident. Mr. Wille will direct them to the people and procedures necessary to initiate a similar organization. If possible, Model Reports for 2012 published assessments may be continued, but as of now, that is not definite. Also, Assessment Appeal Classes may be conducted in 2012 if there is interest and personnel able to conduct them. Other Sun City groups are now addressing property taxes and related issues. Refer to the list of Special Interest Groups list in the LifeStyles magazine.
