Offended by “Memories” submission
I read the article regarding deceased spouses and it certainly was offensive to the widows who have lost spouses. My husband passed away three years ago, and there is not a day that goes by that I don’t remember the memories we had and how much he is missed. I believe that life goes on, and we cannot bury ourselves in our grief. Mr. March suggests that “it is heartbreaking to see a good person forgotten so quickly.” I don’t think he realizes how heartbreaking it is to live alone and try to move on. Shame on you, Mr. March.
Get details about property taxes and assessments
On June 12, the Civics Committee hosted a program on property assessments, taxes, exemptions, and how to do appeals. The program was presented by the Property Tax Action Group. It was well received by the audience. Yet, only about 2 percent of Sun City residents were in attendance. Those unable to be present can now access the slide presentation; it captures very well the core content of the presentations.
Log onto the Sun City website. In the left column of the screen, click on “groups”; then click on “resident special interest groups”; then “Property Tax Action Group”; then join the group; then click on “Civics Committee PTAG June 12 Presentation” and advance through the slides.
Joining this group will also enable you to view the model reports. This year’s assessments are projected to come in August, which is much earlier than usual.
