The September 27 edition’s political place entry, How the Romney/Ryan health care plans impacts people over 55, contains a typo. The sentence reading:
“The ādonut holeā in the prescription drug plan, shrinking now and totally gone in 2010 thanks to ObamaCare, would be reopened.” should have the year 2020, not 2010. The Sun Day regrets this error and any confusion it has caused.
Response to HSPA “Get out the voteā
Both political party conventions are history, and each Huntley area action group has recently held its own meeting to call attention to the importance of the November 2012 general election. We all agree that āgetting out the voteā is important for a number of reasons. What we continue to disagree about is how we must decide who deserves our votes. While HSPA is all out for Barack Obama and Democrat candidates, the Huntley Tea Party is calling for voters to support candidates who represent traditional American conservative values and our fundamental freedoms that are not now being honored or well-respected by this president or Congress as a whole.
We should be thankful for those brave representatives in Congress who stand up to deny Obama and senate democrats a clear path to the further decline of our free society and for defending us against even more failed policies and government programs attempting to control our lives. This has been much less an obstructive Congress and more a destructive administration, and it must be stopped.
What all voters must also realize is this simple fact: a vote for those HSPA-supported candidates represents a vote for Nancy Pelosi and even more programs of government-managed-intrusion into our personal lives, taking away our liberty and freedom to choose whatās best for ourselves and our family. We need only look around and see what weāre losing as a result of the growing dependence upon our government, and that without change, this condition will only grow and get worse for us all.
Our national debt continues to grow, annual government spending deficits and more borrowing make matters worse. Our nationās debt rating was lowered in 2011 for the first time ever in our history and has once more been lowered this year. These are all signs we need to recognize as harmful to us today and disastrous for our children tomorrow.
The Huntley Tea Party is also actively involved in a āget out the voteā initiative, and we need your help as we communicate the facts of this failed president and his ongoing effort to “fundamentally transform the United States of America.ā Contact us for more information or to volunteer: www.huntleyteaparty.com Jim Nelson

Huntley Seniors for Progressive Action
Get Ready
The 2012 election is only a month away, Tuesday Nov. 6. It is an election that will have a lasting impact on our nation. A Democratic Party sweep of the executive branch and both houses of Congress could mean a return to good government and actions taken to effectively improve the lives of all Americans, not just the upper 1 percent. The election of Republicans could have gravely different results. A split between an Obama Presidency and Tea Party House could result in more years of stalemate and inaction.
So, Huntley Seniors for Progressive Action will continue to reach out to fellow Sun City residents in support of the President, congressional candidate Anderson, and other democratic campaigns. HSPA encourages all Sun City residents to be sure they are registered to vote. The last day for regular registration is October 9. If they fail to register by the 9th, there is Grace Period registration at the County Clerkās office from October 10 through November 3. If they register to vote during the grace period and want to vote in the upcoming election, they must vote at the time of registration!
At its October 10 meeting at Huntley Park District Rec Center, HSPA will be focusing on how to help the campaigns and get out the vote, whether by making calls, going door to door, driving voters to the polls on election day, or otherwise. Getting out the vote is important. Democrats can take back the House, but it’ll be close and every seat matters.
Getting our local candidates elected may be decided by only a few votes and make a big difference in Washington.
We have the momentum. We need to keep it going.
Thank you for everything you do.
Pledge to vote this year, and then get your friends and family to do the same.

Dear Editor
The County Executive referendum has nothing to do with Ken Koehler or Jack Franks.
This referendum if passed will add another layer of government, give the county executive veto power over our elected County Board representatives’ decisions, and change our county for the worse forever.
In addition to Ken and Dick Klemm, we have had excellent County Board chairmen over the past 30 years, including: Ron Morris, Clint Claypool, Ed Buss, Ann Hughes, Dianne Klemm, and Mike Tryon.
Who has elected the County Board Chairman for many, many years? The County Board members we have elected! Our representatives know best who would be an effective leader.
Vote no on the referendum. It is ridiculous.
Very truly yours,
Thomas C. Zanck,
Woodstock
