On Saturday, Dec. 1 at approximately 2:04 p.m., the Huntley Police Department responded to a single vehicle crash near the intersection of Del Webb Boulevard and Sumer Ridge Lane involving a motorcycle. Upon arrival, the motorcyclist was suffering from severe injuries and was immediately transported to Sherman Hospital in Elgin by the Huntley Fire Protection District.
Del Webb Boulevard from Nottingham Drive to Wildrose Drive was detoured to conduct a traffic crash investigation. Preliminary findings indicated the motorcyclist was travelling eastbound on Del Webb Boulevard west of Sumer Ridge Lane, swerved to avoid an animal in the roadway, and then lost control of the motorcycle. The motorcyclist has been identified as Keith R. Preble, age 52, of Huntley. Mr. Preble was pronounced deceased at Sherman Hospital shortly after arrival.
