HUNTLEY – A driver crashed her car into a commercial building at 12173 Regency Parkway in Huntley just before 9 a.m. this morning. No one was injured.
The impact occurred in the area of the building that houses Kaye Eyecare. The driver isĀ reported to be an elderly woman who was a patient arriving for an eye appointment. The crash hit a small office which an optometrist was scheduled to occupy just five minutes later. The room was empty at the time of impact.
“I thought it was the biggest thunder and lightning I ever heard,” Kathy, an employee at Kaye, said.
Upon hearing the crash, employees went outside to see what had happened. They made sure the driver was OK and then called police. The driver was described as coherent, but embarrassed. It is believed she was not driving fast, as the airbags were not deployed.
