What is “Project 365?” Simply put, it is a Neighborhood Watch group setting a goal toward correcting a problem area in their community and/or expanding their NW mission. The results should be achieved in 365 days.
Our NHN/NW Sun City Committee made the decision to adopt the re-certification program initiated earlier this year as the project we will submit to National Night Out as our goal for 2014.
As of 2012, we have 29 neighborhoods that have been certified as a NW area with the Huntley Police Department. As of this 2013, 27 neighborhoods have been re-certified. We are currently working on improving those numbers and adding new neighborhoods to our group.
We are not new to NNO, but this will be the first year of our involvement in Project 365. The results of our efforts will be announced to Sun City residents at the next NNO gathering in 2014.
We believe the re-certification effort we selected as the 2014 goal will be a significant contribution to the NHN/NW program and hopefully adopted nationwide.
