The success of our Grand Benefit Auction puts us closer to the time when we’re GOING ON THE AIR. We just need to raise a bit more money to put us over the top AND we’re going to try to accomplish that by our next big event – a 24 Hour marathon called Radiothon. – hosted by Huntley Radio’s own “2 Dudes and The Duchess.” The Dudes are Bill Geheren and Travis Wittmeyer and the Duchess is Kate Curtin. Producer, Michael Geheren.
Listen LIVE 6 p.m. Friday, August 1 at huntleyradio.com. The radiothon ends 6 p.m. Saturday, August 2. Tune in and help us raise the funds to get us on the FM dial by the end of 2014. Or, come on over to Deicke Park. Bring your own chair and watch us broadcast from our porch. Friday’s guests will include ORION SAMUELSON, MAYOR CHUCK SASS, DR. JOHN BURKEY, DAVE JOHNSON, MICHAEL FLECK, ALLEN POLLACK AND MUSIC BY “NORTHERN PINNACLE”.
Our Saturday’s guests are Sen. Pamela Althoff, Sn. Karen McConnaughay, Police Chief John Perkins, Centegra Hospita’s Kelly Hazenfield, Jax Turyna, Ann Knipp and Music by “A Momma & A Poppa.”
Assuming we meet our fundraising goal, here’s the tentative timetable: We’ve just completed the required engineering studies, and with the Village’s approval, we will lease space on the Village of Huntley’s water tower at Kreutzer and Haligus. When that is done and we raise enough money, we will purchase and install our FM equipment, including our antenna, transmitter, emergency alert system, and other essential items before the snow and ice arrive. The antenna will be installed on the top of the tower and the transmitter inside the building at the bottom of the tower. After an essential communication link is established between the studio in Deicke Park and the tower and the engineers have tested the system, that’s it. You’ll be able to go to your radio and dial 101.5 on your FM dial and listen to our great programs on Huntley’s first and only radio station.
We’re almost there!
