SUN CITY – As Halloween approaches, the Grandma, Grandpa and Me Club make their preparations for their annual Halloween party. This year, the party falls on Sunday, Oct. 26 from 1-3 p.m. at the Fountain View Center.
The club has been hosting this event for about 12 years now and expects a turnout of more than 250 people, with about 90 of them being children.
“The adults always seem to outnumber the children,” Club Member Addie Metoyer said.
Tickets are on sale for $6 while ages two and under get in free. During the party, there will be a magician, snacks, games, and prizes, which will include various Halloween trinkets such as bubbles, stickers, and jewelry.
To attend the event, you must be a member of the Grandma, Grandpa and Me Club, which has an annual membership fee of $15.
Student volunteers from Huntley High School have been chosen to help run this event. After the party has ended, children are invited to trick or treat around the neighborhood, knocking only on doors with the lights on from 3-5 p.m.
“I hope that everyone will have a good time and will want to continue to come, bringing others with them,” Metoyer said.
