Polish American Club welcomes novelist Kym Brunner
The Nov. 17 meeting will begin at 1:30 p.m. in the Oak/Elm room at Meadow View Lodge. Novelist Kym Brunner will be our guest. Brunner is the daughter of Ed Obrachta, a former member of the club. Her latest book, “One Smart Cookie,” is a story about three generations of Polish women who have a family owned bakery. The story is humorous, true to life, and can bring back memories. There are many Polish references in the story. In fact, the character Busia in her book is based on both of Kym’s grandmothers who lived with the Obrachta family for fifteen years. It seems we will have to read the book to find out which one is the “Smart Cookie.” Ms. Brunner will speak about her book and answer any questions. The book is available online at Amazon.com for those who would like to read it before the meeting. Kym will also have books available for sale at the meeting. The Paperback book is $20.00.
