HUNTLEY – Variety is the spice of life – and soon it will be the spice of Sun City.

MC Glamour, an energetic, two-woman variety act, will hit The Cosman Theater in Huntley this holiday season with its new show, “A Smile For Christmas.”

The performance group derives its title from the first initials of the dynamic duo, Marsha Kapchinski and Carolyn Kleen, and their sparkling entertainment. The two have been performing together since 2007 when they met in Sun City.

The upcoming Christmas show, according to Kapchinski, will include high-energy singing, dancing, and comedy, complete with 20 costume changes. With a set list of 24 songs, ranging from classic favorites (“Let It Snow”) to lesser-known gems (“Santa Claus is Coming in a Boogie-Woogie Choo-Choo Train”), the performance runs the gamut of musical styles.

“It’s an exciting show,” said Kapchinski. “It keeps everybody going.”

MC Glamour shows have been going strong since 2012. Known as the “Queens of Bling,” the duet self-describes their shows as “quite glitzy and glimmery.”

But MC Glamour isn’t only about personal panache. Proceeds from the ticket sales for the “A Smile for Christmas” performance will go to the Grafton Food Pantry.

“We’re hoping to fill all of the seats,” said Kapchinski.

Not only does MC Glamour share with those in need, the performance also allows for others to shine. Kapchinski and Kleen’s husbands also perform in the shows, often during the comedy segments, and there is occasional audience participation.

Ultimately, Kapchinksi enjoys performing because of its potential to spread joy.

“The biggest thing that I enjoy is making people smile. It’s the most rewarding thing,” she said.

This time, the audience can expect a special surprise from the duo during the show.

“I can’t let the cat out of the bag, but there’s one number in particular that everyone is just going to love. They’re going to be so surprised,” said Kapchinski.
