Those elves are at it again! The Sun City Woodchucks are hard at work crafting toys to put under the tree. It may not be the North Pole (although the temperatures feel like it!), but the Woodshop is bustling with activity this holiday season.
One of the recipients is Grafton Food Pantry in Huntley. Board member (and Sun City resident) Harriet Ford said, “These toys are beautiful, custom creations that you rarely see anymore. For our clients, these toys are a treasured holiday gift at a time when there may not be any gifts for their children. It truly makes their holiday brighter. The Woodchucks understand the spirit of the holidays! We are so very appreciative of all of the effort that goes into this project.”
Woodchuck President Al La Pelusa also serves on the Board of Directors for Grafton Food Pantry.
“We have been working on the design and implementation of the toys for the past 4 months. We deliver approximately 200 toys to three organizations. We made eight different toys this year. It is our way of giving back to the community,” said Al.
