Nancy P. Shadle of Huntley passed away peacefully on November 12, at Journeycare Hospice in Woodstock. Nancy was born in Des Moines, Iowa.
In her career, Nancy graduated from Drake University in Des Moines, Iowa with a degree in early education. She taught kindergarten, started and led two Big Brother/Big Sister organizations, one in the Quad Cities, the other in Decatur, Illinois, was Volunteer Coordinator at Provena Mercy Hospital in Aurora as well as developed and taught a highly successful kindergarten readiness program at the Elburn Public Library.
She enjoyed knitting, seated aerobics, walking Brandi (her standard poodle), and traveling with her husband, Dave.
Nancy is survived by her husband, Dave, in Sun City, a daughter, Cindy Speicher, and a granddaughter, Jaime Speicher in Minneapolis. Nancy was preceded in death by her parents and an infant brother.
Nancy requested her body be donated to medical science.
A memorial open house celebrating her life will be held for family, friends, and neighbors December 13, from 2-4 p.m. at their home, 13852 Chestnut Lane, in Huntley.
