SUN CITY – Sun City has recently launched a new in-house recycling program in collaboration with Huntley Waste Management that is already being implemented.
There will be recycling bins placed in offices, meeting spaces, and the public spaces of Prairie Lodge, Meadow View Lodge, Milgrove Woodshop, Tall Oaks Tennis Center, the Fountain View Pavilion as well as the residential swimming pools according to the Sun City website.
The program will enforce a single-stream system. This means that only cardboard, plastic bottles, aluminum cans, glass and paper may be placed in these bins after being cleaned.
The last change to come to the recycling program was in April when large bins for plastic, paper, and metal were given to residents. This was in response to residential complaints to animals getting into the bins and wind blowing away the materials.
