There have been some changes in our weekly schedule to make room for our new shows. You can get the new listings by going to our website huntleyradio.org and clicking on “Schedule.”
I must apologize to all you Polka fans. In a previous column, I mistakenly gave you the wrong time to listen to this great show. Tune in on Sundays at 2 p.m. and join host Jim Kucharski for “Chainsaw Polka Madhouse,” featuring the finest in polka music from the past and present. That’s every Sunday from 2-3 p.m. We hope you’ll tune in.
Here is a brief summary of the many, many shows on 101.5 FM, using Monday as an example: “Ag News and Views,” Huntley High School’s “Raider Radio,” “The Morning News,” “Two Dudes and the Duchess,” “The Dean Rowe Show,” Entertainment Spotlight,” “The Dining Duo,” “Pondering our Paws,” “Yesterday’s Music, Tomorrow’s Events,” “Centegra’s Physician Lecture Series,” “Rick’s Old Time Radio,” “The Dorm Room,” ”A Little of This, A Little of That,” “Tennis Love,” “Classical Music at its Best,” “Evening News,” “Cruisin’ Music Radio,” “Greg’s Classic Jam,” “True Blues.” And that’s just Monday!
Of course, there are blends of Contemporary and Late Night music, as well. If you go to our website or Facebook page, you’ll see that there’s a bevy of many, many more programs covering fascinating interviews, sports, finances, animals, real estate, classical music, and programs from the McHenry Conservation District and other agencies serving our community. Go to our website huntleyradio.org and find the rest of the week’s selection in our next column, BUT if you’d rather not wait, it’s all there on our website and Facebook page.
Don’t forget our newest Sunday morning program “Music & the Message” at 10 a.m., where you’ll hear Pastor Bruce Milash of St. Peters Lutheran Church. Our middle name is “Community” and that’s why, from the moment we started our station, we reserved a block of time on Sunday morning for any religious denomination to present their message.
Have you noticed all the remodeling that’s been going on in downtown Huntley next to the rail tracks? Well, that historic building is getting ready for its new occupant, the McHenry County “visitors bureau,” who will be moving from Crystal Lake to Huntley. I’ve been meeting with them as they prepare their monthly show, possibly in April.
A quick reminder – we at HCR are a not-for-profit organization, dependent on grants, sponsors, and individual donations. FCC rules forbid us from selling time as commercial stations do. So when you are listening to us on 101.5 FM, think of us.
