Only a little way to go and before youâll notice itâll be spring!
Yes, we know thereâs been snow in April and sometimes May, but it’s almost over.
Spring means âApril showersâ and Tax Day, but it also means
New beginnings!
And we at c will bring New Beginnings to you, our listeners, with a group of New Shows
Returning are two of our most popular shows:
âTable Talkâ with gourmet chef and food lover, Paulette Rusk. Paulette has prepared some brand new programs starting in April. Her first new program will be all about Soups.
Pretty soon the seed catalogs will be here and that means that Kathleen Carr and her show âHow Does Your Garden Grow?â will be back, just in time to get you started planning and planting.
And here are a group of new programs that will begin in Spring:
United Way of McHenry County with Executive Director and host Steve Otten. Learn all about 2-1-1, meet their partner agencies, agencies they support, their boards, staff and more
âAccess with Respectâ with host Dave Rosenfeldt. Programs devoted to issues concerning the special needs of the disabled. Everything from special equipment needs, travel, going out to restaurants or the theater and local transportation
McHenry County Department of Health. Youâll be amazed at the vast number of services available to residents of McHenry County from animal control to zoning and much, much more.
âVisit McHenry Countyâ Have you seen the remodeling of an old building in downtown Huntley? Itâs going to be the new home of this agency. This will be an exciting travel show highlighting places to visit in the County and the State of Illinois
âYou Can Book Itâ hosted by Herb Kelly. A review of fiction, including mysteries, history, sports, politics, humor, and best sellers. And, in addition, he will introduce you to some great non-fiction books, with interviews with local and non-local authors, librarians, and will even include great books for children. Herb is a bibliophile, which means he is a lover of books, and youâll really love his show, especially when he reads some of his favorite passages in his wonderful voice.
Thatâs the current line-up at present. Go to our website and watch for the opening days of these shows.
One more thing. Most of you realize that Huntley Community Radio is a not-for-profit organization that is not allowed to sell advertising, like commercial radio stations. And, by charter, we will not accept funds from any tax-supported agency. So in order to cover basic operating expenses, like rent, utilities, marketing, and services, we rely on grants, sponsorships, and donations from individuals and businesses. I mention this to clarify any requests for funding you may get from us.
Weâd love to hear from you â do you like our programming, or do you have a suggestion for a new program? Let us know.
