Help wanted

By Dorothy Litwin

Your Community Radio Station has been broadcasting on 101.5 FM for nearly six months, and we’re getting busier and busier. By May, we’ll have 44 shows and more to come. And that’s great…but while there’s a lot to do, we just don’t have enough volunteers to get some of the jobs done.

If you could spare a couple of hours a week to help, it’d be great. Help us with our new database, work on fundraisers, write and record spot announcements and more and more and more.

If you’re interested and want to know more, email dorothy.litwin@huntleyradio.org. Areas you might be interested in volunteering are: Sound board operating, editing, hosting a new show, database building, office support, and more. And here’s a BIG thank you in advance.

Here’s some of the latest news: We just were awarded a major $10,000 grant from the McHenry County Community Foundation to be used for the purchase of remote equipment. The purchase and installation of this equipment will allow us to take our microphones to other locations, like the Huntley High School football games, outdoor concerts, Village board meetings, etc.

Another BIG thank you. We also want to thank our other donors who have helped us through our two-and-a-half year history. But more donors are needed to keep Huntley Radio alive. Visit our website (huntleyradio.com) to donate and see some our other donors and find out how you can give. Remember your donation is tax deductible.

Three of our interns from McHenry Community College have completed their internship, and new interns will be joining us.

Last, but not least, we will be installing a much needed outdoor sign on our building. Our visitors and guests will be grateful.
