Huntley’s Memorial Day Parade is Monday, May 25 and Huntley Radio is going to be in it. On our float will be some of your favorite radio stars, some of our staff, and some of our dedicated volunteers. What am I saying? We’re all volunteers. We hope you’ll come out and cheer us on. The parade starts at the Municipal Complex (know also as Village Hall) at 11 a.m., travels west down Main Street, turns right onto Woodstock Street and ends at the American Legion Hall of Huntley, 11712 Carol St.
Recently Illinois Senator Pam Althoff visited our studio and was interviewed by Elizabeth Kessler, Executive Director of the McHenry County Conservation District and host of the show “Wide Open Spaces”. Many very important issues that affect all of us will be heard this month.
We have a brand new show starting this month – “THE HOMEMAKER WITH LYDIA” featuring Lydia Wade, a Sun City resident, a published writer of five books and a retired teacher for 22 years, 9 of which were spent in Nigeria, West Africa. Lydia holds a Masters Degree in Home Economics from the University of the Philippines and has worked in her field for many years. Her show will not only deal with homemaking, nutrition, and food, but she will amuse you with stories about her travels,(she has visited over 40 countries), her life in the Philippines, life in Nigeria and more. Watch for dates and times.
And by the way, our schedule is currently being updated and revised. It will be on our website huntleyradio.com. And remember, be sure to tune in your radio to 101.5 FM.
