Whatâs âRadiothonâ you might ask? Itâs Huntley Community Radioâs Second Annual 24 Hour very, very Special Event and the whole community is invited. It starts tomorrow, July 31 at 6 p.m. and will continue straight through the nite, ending at 6 p.m. on Saturday, August 1. You can tune into 101.5FM on your radio or listen on our website at huntleyradio.com, OR best of all, come on over to our studio in Deicke Park on Route 47 north of Kreutzer. Weâll have a tent and chairs for you to watch live radio in action. We have an exciting line-up of guests. Here are some of the highlights:
Your neighbor, Orion Samuelson of WGN Radio, will be kicking it off. He will be live on our porch at 6 p.m. on Friday. Joining us at 6:45 p.m. will be Illinois State Senator Karen McConnaughy who will discuss representing Huntley and the surrounding community in the state legislature. We know everyone is concerned about the budget in Springfield, so to keep you informed and connected, we will be asking the Senator to explain what is happening. This wonât be a debate but merely an educational conversation. At 7:15pm a local singer-songwriter will be entertaining everyone with his acoustic music.
Huntley Mayor Chuck Sass will join us to tell us whatâs happening in the Village. At 8 p.m., Huntley Radio stars of â2 Dudes and the Duchessâ will be celebrating their 500th episode. Overnight there will be fun and games. Canât sleep? Come on over or tune us in at 101.5FM
Saturday at 7:30 a.m., our opening guest is Renee Swanson, Marketing/Special Events Manager at Sun City, at 10:30 a.m., weâll be talking to Huntley Police Chief John Perkins and at 12 p.m., we have Doc Diamond with a Neil Diamond Tribute in another free concert. As we wrap up Radiothon, Jim and Justin from Modern Day Romeos will perform from 4:30-6 p.m. There will be more guests listed on our website, huntleyrado.org.
We invite you to come to Deicke Park, and enjoy FREE entertainment, and there will be food vendors there so you wonât get hungry. We just learned that a special wine basket will be given away thanks to the Sun City Community Association.
Radiothon supports Huntley Community Radio helping it sustain and grow. This is an opportunity to learn about us and our vast selection of programming.
We hope to see many of our neighbors from Sun City, Huntley and our surrounding communities.
