Ever since Sun City opened, the Lifestyles magazine has been delivered by volunteer residents in their neighborhoods.
About 200 volunteers pick up anywhere from 10 to 30 magazines at Meadow View Lodge at the end of each month and deliver them door-to-door to their neighbors.
Now, some changes may be made in this arrangement.
At the board of directors committee of the whole meeting on September 2, there was a short discussion about some recent incidents involving resident injuries in bad weather, and higher levels of resident concern as a result. Alternative methods of delivery, including mailing the magazine directly to Sun City households, are being considered.
This topic was on the agenda for discussion, and possible decision, at the regular monthly meeting of the board on September 23.
At least three delivery volunteers in one neighborhood have been injured in falls during inclement winter weather recently, one board member said.
