When Edwin Lezniakand his dog, Sammie, stepped out for their routine walk through Neighborhood 12, the two didnât know there was a buzz of danger in the air. Soon afterward, the pair was in trouble; Sammie had been stung by a wasp and couldnât continue walking the several blocks home.
âI had to lay Sammie down because I was afraid she was going to fall. She was really scared, and I was, too,â said Lezniak.
Thatâs when Janeen, a Good Samaritan resident of Neighborhood 15, came to the rescue.
According to Lezniak, Sammie was stranded near Janeenâs front lawn. Seeing that Sammie, a large Lab mix, was in pain, and that Lezniak had no way of transporting her, Janeen insisted on driving the two home, no questions asked.
While Leznaik said that he and Sammie are well known in their neighborhood, they had never met Janeen.
âHere she is going out of her wayâŠand I wanted to publicly thank her,â said Lezniak, who only obtained Janeenâs first name.
Thanks to Janeenâs kindness, Lezniak reported that Sammie has fully recovered.
âSheâs like a puppy today,â he said.
