There is one man with a conscious on the Kane County board. Phil Lewis. He will vote against the new raises.â¨James Fuller wrote today that the board is going to get 2.5% raises. 13% raises since 2013.
The 9 department head salaries will be from $73,372 (only one under $100,000) up to $153,105. Some of the departments are probably not even necessary for a county with just around half a million people. Do we need a Human Resources director for $133,402? What about the rest of them?
The coroner has been raking up big bills on the credit card given him, with no accountability. I donât remember the exact amount but it was over $500,000 for INCIDENTALS. No one is watching where the money is going not even the Finance Director who is making $130,000.
Our social security payments have not gone up 1 cent this year and only 1/2% last year.
Where is this money coming from? Increased taxes.
Our homes are being reevaluated to go up 20%, so our taxes will go up 20% in June. Some of us appealed it and we were turned down. House sale prices are still down so the value has not gone up yet they say our houses are worth 20% more. Tell that to the 4,659 owners trying to sell their homes in Kane. We canât afford it.
Something must be done. People must speak out. My whole social security check for the year will go toward paying my property tax.
We must write letters, go to board meetings and vote Lauzen out and the others involved in this scam being perpetrated on Kane County residents.

I noticed that our electric bills have gone up considerably since we changed suppliers with the town getting the supplier. My gas bills have gone down a lot. Usually the gas was high in the winter and the electric low. Now the electric is high all year round. Looking at the graph, in a month that had little usage we were billed $116. That means next summer our bill will be over $200 a month.
I called Com Ed and was told their normal rate for kWH is 0.070006. Constellation Energy who the town found for us is charging 0.06890. Hardly a difference. I went to pluginillinois.org to compare prices of other suppliers. I found fixed rates as low as .0565 with a 1-year contract. We are overpaying and the town should be keeping up with what providers are charging. Please call the town and complain. What is the sense of joining the town when they are supposed to be negotiating lower rates for us.
I for one want to opt out and will be looking in to how I can do this. We are not being served well by Huntley. Direct Energy who was the previous supplier is charging .0579 per kWH. Why did they say were going to save by switching.
My winter bills used to be around $75 to $80, not $116. How about you?
