For several hours a week, I work at the Huntley Library re-shelving items. During this process, opportunity presents itself for me to peruse materials Iād not see while looking on my own. Very often I say to myself, oh, that looks interesting … and then I keep it or jot down the info. Iāll share some with you that pique my interest.
Dālish Deviled Eggs
by Kathy Casey

A well-received contribution to any potluck or picnic, in my experience, is deviled eggs. I still use a basic recipe from my 50-year-old Better Homes & Gardens cookbook. So, when I saw this book, I had to have it. The front cover says the author āpays homage to the classic deviled egg, but also dishes up creative, modern takes on tradition.ā The food photography is superb. Check out page 71. Green goddess deviled eggs have avocado, mayo, sour cream, garlic, and tarragon! Or how about French toast deviled eggs? Ingredients: mayo, sour cream, maple syrup, and crumbled breakfast sausage. The strawberry topping makes it healthy. Ha!

I tried knitting once and have a lovely scarf to show for it. One scarf; all knit & purl. So, this book title caught my eye because Iām all about āeasy.ā Its contents are arranged in categories: babies/toddlers, children, women, men, home, tools, techniques. Colored photos and large, clear graphs look helpful to me. Thereās an entire chapter about yarns! I see several pages about how to cast onā¦something I never mastered.
