The snowbirds are back, and it’s time to rock once again!
That’s the word around Sun City, as Huntley’s favorite party band, OLD’S COOL, gets ready to start their summer season this Sunday, June 4, at Trio Grille in Marengo from 1-4 p.m.
Because OLD’S COOL is on hiatus during the winter months, the band’s last appearance was last October, and a lot has changed since then. Two of the band’s former members (drummer Monk Montgomery and bassist Bob Noble) have retired and now live permanently out of state (Wisconsin and Florida).
But that doesn’t mean that OLD’S COOL is old news. Not by any stretch of the imagination.
New band members Ron Hoyle (bass) and Jay Virzi (drums) have rehearsed all winter to join the mix, and they bring a new energy to the band, not only on old favorites, but also several new songs that the band will unveil for the first time at Sunday’s Trio Grille show.
“We always love playing at Trio Grille, because there’s plenty of room to dance, the food is great, and you can even bowl a line or two between sets if you want!” says band member TR Kerth. “And we’re really excited to start this new season with our new band members, whose talents open up all kinds of possibilities for us to explore.”
It’s a show you don’t want to miss, because even faithful fans of OLD’S COOL will find new reasons to love the band.
Start the summer right at Trio Grille this Sunday afternoon with a new and improved OLD’S COOL!
