The Sunflower Garden Club of Sun City Huntley is hosting their 8th Annual Holiday House Walk for Charity

The 8th ANNUAL HOLIDAY HOUSE WALK FOR CHARITY will take place on Thursday, December 14 from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. Ticket cost is $10 per person and will include entrance to six beautifully decorated homes and a dessert reception at Fountain View on the day of the walk. New this year is a Raffle with dozens of prizes to be won. House Walk Tickets purchased by December 1st will receive one (1) free raffle ticket.

After December 1, raffle tickets will sell for $1 each or 6 for $5. Winning tickets will be drawn and posted by 5 p.m. at the Dessert Reception on December 14 in the Cedar Room at Fountain View (Winner need not be present to win).

Tickets for this event along with the raffle tickets will be sold in Prairie Lodge on the following dates and times:

β€” Wednesday, November 8 from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m.
β€” Thursday, November 9 from 9 to Noon
β€” Wednesday, November 15th from 9 to Noon
β€” Friday, November 17th from 4 pm to 7 pm
β€” Wednesday, November 29, from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m.
β€” Friday, December 1 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
β€” Tuesday, December 5, from 4-6 p.m.
β€” Tuesday, December 12, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

If you have attended this event in the past, you already know this is a wonderful way to get into the spirit of the upcoming holidays. Upon viewing the homes, you are invited to sit and have coffee, tea, and sweets with your neighbors and friends, and share new decorating ideas and holiday traditions. The reception will be open during the same hours as the Walk, from 2-6 p.m.

Proceeds from the ticket sales will be donated to several charities. We have 6 dedicated homeowners who each have a charity that is close to their hearts, and want to share with you a festive holiday season.

The sponsors for our 2017 Holiday House Walk are: Cruises International and Berkshire Hathaway/Stark Real Estate.

Our homeowners have selected the following charities to receive the proceeds from our ticket sales:

Ronald McDonald House – A haven for families of children undergoing treatment for serious injuries or illnesses at Loyola & other hospitals in the Chicagoland area.

Open Medicine Foundation – Leads the effort to advance medical research for ME/CFS (myalgic encephalomyelitis/chronic fatigue that follows patterns of success and really benefits from collaboration with leading scientists & clinicians from around the globe.

Garfield Farm Museum – Garfield Farm & Museum is a non-profit land preservation organization that preserves the agricultural historic & natural resources of its properties. The Museum brings together the farming experiences of the past 150 years.

Greyhounds Only, Inc. – Greyhounds Only is a not-for-profit Greyhound rescue & adoption group based in NE Illinois. They take in retired racing greyhounds from all over the world & find them good homes.

JDRF – Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation is the leading global organization funding Type 1 diabetes research. Every dollar is put toward research & comes from donations. Its research is accelerating life-changing breakthroughs to cure, prevent & treat T1Diabetes & its complications.

Great Lakes Greyhound – The mission of Great Lakes Greyhound (a not-for-profit association) is to provide a safe & loving home for retired racing greyhound friends located in Indiana.
