Medical setbacks beginning on December 29 and continuing until February 4 encouraged me to express my heartfelt gratitude and appreciation to the doctors, nurses, technicians, and multiple care providers who treated me. The positive results were nothing less than miraculous. I learned many lessons about the extensive depth of medical knowledge, diagnostic technology, and healing pharmacology.

As needs changed, I was treated as an inpatient at three local facilities. The first provider was outstanding. It became obvious that the second provider did not meet those standards. A prompt departure followed back to the first facility and then on to a third rehab facility equal in service and competence to the first.

During my healing period, I also became much more aware of the complexity of my own body and how it works and, occasionally, doesn’t work. But it must be emphasized that it was the medical team and technology that implemented a healing plan. There are rare occurrences, though, when the best of the best medical care succumbs to Mother Nature. My teams out performed her.

The process to diagnose and provide healing treatment is awesome.

Not to be forgotten in my healing process were my wife, family, and friends who provided extraordinary support and concern. Fortunately, my family support team included a doctor and two nurses.

I must admit that during my 83 years, the subject of the heath care industry and its practitioners were something I took for granted. The miscellaneous aches and pains during a lifetime were nothing compared to the current major complications.

I also express my gratitude of having the financial protection not to incur any out of pocket expenses.

The availability of health care, via various insurance plans for all citizens is not a national priority. The issue has persisted as a political football.

Hopefully, one day a plan to maintain affordable medical care for all will replace the shameful politicizing.
