All right, Sun City gardeners, you wanted spring, itâs here. Now, you have to plant.
One way to learn more about plants and plant care is available at the University of Illinois Extension McHenry County Master Gardenersâ plant sale. Itâs this Sunday, May 20, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. outside the McHenry County University of Illinois Extension building at 1102 McConnell Road, Woodstock.
The selection of plants will include perennials, bulbs, herbs, vegetable starts, and annuals. Most of these plants have been grown by U of I Extension Master Gardeners. All the plans are well-suited to area gardens, according to the Extension group.
Several Extension Master Gardeners will be onsite to answer gardening questions and assist attendees in plant selection.
âWe are looking forward to this spring plant sale, during the end of May, when gardeners are looking for healthy, hardy, unique plants that will thrive in their gardens,â said committee chairman Suzanne Eck.
The sale is on a first-come first-served basis, cash or checks only.
