HUNTLEY – During the midday hours of November 1, a robber struck a home in Sun City Neighborhood 31. Police were called to the 13700 block of White Oak Road shortly after 2 p.m. that afternoon in response to the robbery, which occurred at some point between 9:30 a.m. and 2 p.m.
The houseās residents were not home during the robbery. The unknown thief or thieves forced their way into the home through the front door and stole jewelry from the residence.
Sergeant Scott Sullivan of the Huntley Police Department said this was the second robbery in Sun City this year, following a daytime incident in May in which similar items were stolen.
Sullivan said such robberies are often targeted events, specifically timed for when residents are away. He said the police department was talking to neighbors to see if any of them might have witnessed the robbery or its perpetrators, but at the time had few leads to investigate.
āWeāre still looking into itā¦at this time, thereās really nothing more we have,ā Sullivan said.
