I’m writing this in response to Eileen Prus. She obviously does not do her homework. Almost all the reasons for not voting for Joe Biden are easily refuted by going to an internet site “Joe Biden’s positions on the issues. There are too many to list here, such as “defunding the police,ā “banning guns”, “Advancing the ACA (Obamacare)”, etc. Research the facts!
I find that most people continue supporting the party they were raised with. I’m a Democrat because my father was a Union pipefitter. Then my husband was a Union electrician. There is no Trump party! As seniors in Sun City, if you vote to re-elect Donald J. Trump because you are a republican, you deserve everything you get…Cutting or eliminating Social Security, Medicare, clean air and water, and a burning country. Vote with your brain.

Love reading my Sun Day and I look forward to reading it front to back. I like to read positive and informative info and also opinions.
Was very disappointed in theviewfromplanetkerth from TR Kerth. If he is a columnist why can’t he stick to a great story. A Tale of Daddy Warbucks and other dogs is a political opinion. This should be written in the political sections on the 1st page.
If he’s a columnist write a story for everyone. I don’t care to hear what he has to say about our President. Plus, he has taken up a full page with his politics.
Thank You.
Would love to hear about his trip to Starved Rock and what he saw and probably the beauty of the trees changing but not politics. If I want to read politics I can ready the Daily Herald.

If you havenāt already cast your ballot and posted your preference to amend or not amend the Illinois constitution, when you do do so, take some time to consider the following.
All Illinois residents, who must pay income tax, pay 4.95% of their taxable income to the State of Illinois.
In order to change that amount to a different calculation or dollar amount, the Illinois constitution must be amended to do so.
The authority to do, or not to do so, is provided in the ballot you will submit on or before November 3.
The change in amendment language contains NO revisions to percentages or graduated amounts.
Advertisements supporting the change point to a future increase exclusively to taxpayers earning in excess of $250,000. That is only a promise. So why not include that language in the amendment. That would only be the FAIR thing to do.
The language of the revised amendment does NOT contain any percentage, any dollar amount or any formula for a graduated amount. Thatās risky business which tax payers may face in the future.
The absence of any dollar amount or percentage potentially āleaves the door openā or provides a ācarte blancheā opportunity to impose taxes in any amount any time the legislature decides to do so.
Bottom line: Spending less requires less revenue. Less revenue provides an opportunity for less taxes.
You decide what the FAIR thing to do is.
