One of the unexpected results of the COVID-19 pandemic has been more people gardening. Selections in nurseries were scarce last summer because of the increased interest.
Sun Cityâs Sunflower Garden Club has been getting creative in what they will be able to execute and what is scheduled in the upcoming months. The Sun City Board recently approved additional reopening of amenities and activities, with some guidance and restrictions. Clubs had to provide a plan for resuming activities.
The board stated, âSuch a plan must adhere to the guidelines to be considered. Plans must address behavior and safety of members, disinfection of any equipment, and any other information relevant to resuming activity.â
Sue Coltman, President of the Club said, âWe’ve gotten approval to have our annual Spring Basket Sale.ââ¨Darlene Rutledge said, âWe in the Sunflower Garden Club are so excited to have our Spring Hanging Basket Sale in the Pavilion on Saturday, May 8, from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. or until sold out.
