The Sunflower Garden held its Annual Garden Walk on July 10. The walk-through free event was open to Sun City residents and the public. On Saturday, nine residents opened the pathways to walk through their carefully designed landscapes.
Darlene Rutledge said, āI want everyone to walk through and experience the garden rather than pass it by.”
Rutledgeās garden design includes a carefully composed garden that is filled with annuals, fragrant plants close to the path, and tight mounds of open flowers. Rutledge gives credit to another Sun City resident.
āJean Christie helped me design the landscaping around my home. I am just trying to keep in pruned and keep the rabbits from eating them,ā she said.
The nine gardens showed some great options. Visitors enjoyed a dazzling view with a flower bed full of vibrant color.
