Huntley Village Manager, David Johnson, said that “the Cider Grove subdivision will be adding 180 new single-family homes.”
The subdivision, which is located on Dundee Road, due north of St. Mary Church, was built by D. R. Horton construction. The next phase of Cider Grove will cover 43 acres.
D. R. Horton was founded in 1978 in Fort Worth, Texas. They claim to be America’s largest home builder having built more than 850,000 homes in 30 states.
Harry Leopold, Village Trustee, reports that “there is a new development of single-family houses on the Kudlach property which is bounded by Main and Huntley/Dundee to the north and south and Haligus and Ruth to the east and west.”
M/I Homes of Chicago has requested a conceptual review of a proposed site plan to develop the roughly eighty-two acres for 150 single family homes and 62 townhomes.
M/I Homes currently has more than 20 housing developments underway in the greater Chicago area.
M/I Homes, which stands for cousins Melvin and Irving Schottenstein, was founded in 1976 in Columbus, Ohio. The company has built more than 130,000 homes and is ranked as the 6th largest home builder in the U.S. They have 26 communities under development in the Midwest, Southeast and Texas.
