After several months of unrest and complaints, the dust has settled in the Rutland Township offices as Raúl Lemus was sworn in as the new Township Supervisor. His three-year term of office ends in 2025.
According to Lemus, he has “served in local government for four years, including being elected as Village Trustee for Pingree Grove.”
He has also served on the Village of Pingree Grove Planning and Zoning Commission.
Lemus believes that “these experiences have helped me learn more about local government policymaking, budgeting and more.”
He earned his Bachelor of Education Degree from Roosevelt University and his Masters Degree in Education from Kaplan University. He has been a substitute teacher in District 200. He is currently employed as a Project Manager with the computer software company Oracle.
