Doug Cataldo, the Huntley Library Marketing Director, was the guest speaker at the March meeting of the Sun City Computer Club.
Cataldo spoke of the enhancements found in the library since it’s complete renovation. According to Cataldo, “New seating areas, conference room, private study rooms, a recording studio, and a creative studio have been added.”
Of most interest to the Computer Club meeting attendees was what is in the new Creative Studio. Cataldo listed the new tech equipment that’s available to anyone with a library card.
“We now have quilting, crochet and knitting equipment and supplies. A Singer Sewing machine and a Designio Serger.”
He also described the various “3D printing equipment from Prusa, Creality, Elegoo and Scupto.” Each prints a specific material in unique sizes.
Cataldo also announced that “the library’s fireplace is still there with some updating.”
One patron complaint that he said has been successfully addressed was the noise level in the main room. He added that “We had new lighting installed that contains baffles that reduce the sound levels.”
Cataldo extended invited all to “come to the library and look around.” He added that “we will have some open house activities coming in the near future.”
