Tall Oaks camera committee created to process data

By My Sunday News

SUN CITY – It was announced at the May 25 Sun City board meeting that four cameras were purchased at a cost of $9,000 and that they would be installed at the Tall Oaks Courts for unspecified purposes. Executive Director Loughran did state that “they’re not for security purposes.”

When asked for comment on the cameras the Presidents of both the Pickleball Club and the Tennis Club responded with “no comment.”

At the June 22 Sun City board meeting, President Marilynn Berendt announced the formation of an ad hoc committee “to study and analyze the data submitted regarding tennis and pickle ball court usage at The Tall Oaks Courts.”

She added that the ad hoc committee members are “board members Marilynn Berendt, Roger Lambert and Art Ryden.” She continued “Executive Director Deanna Loughran will serve as well; and Assistant Executive Director Kathy O’Toole will be the point person in this effort.”

Berendt concluded saying, “Data collection will run through early October.”

The appointment of this ad hoc committee apparently answered the question as to the purpose of the cameras. The future usage of the Tall Oaks Courts will be determined in October.
