The Huntley Village board approved video gaming licenses for six new video gaming terminals at the Pinecrest Golf Club. The video gaming terminals would be located in one corner of the restaurant and within the line of sight of the bartenders. The required $500 per machine, or $3,000 total, has been received by the village and deposited. An application for a video gaming operator license was submitted by J&J Ventures Gaming, LLC of Effingham, Illinois.
The Board also approved a video gaming license for Jameson’s, located in Del Webb’s Prairie Lodge. This license was for four video gaming terminals to be located in the bar area of the restaurant. The license fees of $3,000 have been submitted to the village.
There were 16 business with 83 gaming machines licensed by the village in 2022. For 2023, only 15 business with 79 terminals will be licensed by the village. The 2023 license fee revenue from the machines will be $500 per machine and $1,000 per location for a total of $54,500. The FY22 video gaming revenue paid to the village, through the end of November, 2022, was $229,503.
According to Rita McMahon, Village Clerk, “the revenue for 2019, with 67 machines, was $117,739. For 2020, with 74 machines, it was $113,489. It was $234,932 in 2021 with 83 machines.”
She concluded, “The drop off in 2020 was due to machines being turned off a couple of times due to Covid.”
