The Sun City Board meeting took place on July 26 with several key highlights.
Residents protested the removal of the bar area at the cost of $12,000, stating that the bar amenities are valued over $90,000 and would like it to remain and regarded it as an asset.
The Treasurer’s report showed expenses exceeded budgeted amounts by $173K. This resulted in a net deficit to the budget of ($96K). Lifestyles expenses accounted for $34,000 of the loss. On the agenda, a proposal was discussed to print the Lifestyles in color. A prototype of a proposed full-color version of our Lifestyles Magazine was unveiled.
Deanna Loughran stated that conversion to a full-color copy will be in ‘alignment with your goal on communications.’”
The cost would be higher, and Loughran said, “We could implement rate increases to our advertising packages which have not been increased since 2016. We are proposing a 15% increase to our advertising packages.”
Also on the agenda, revision of the Charter Club Manual.
Dottie Harrison brought up a concern with a sentence that would impact charter clubs.
Loughran’s response was that the club’s dues should be set at an amount that would sufficiently fund the basic operation of the club.
