HUNTLEY ā At the Oct. 12 Village Board meeting, trustees will be presented with a proposal brought forward by petitioner, Vertical Bridge VB II, LLC., to construct a 50-foot by 50-foot wireless telecommunication service facility (WTSF) with a 175-foot-tall mobile service support structure built alongside it.
The facility with a tower is proposed to be constructed on property located at 11245 Huntley-Dundee Road, which is currently being occupied by the trucking and excavating company Rico Inc.
According to village staff, Vertical Bridge states that the new facility with tower structure will assist in providing uninterrupted wireless telephone service, voice paging, messaging, wireless internet, and broadband data transmission to Huntley residents and visitors to the village and the surrounding area.
The proposed fenced lease area will be operated by Vertical Bridge and can accommodate up to four tenants, according to the Village Board meeting agenda packet. T-Mobile is the proposed tenant the petitioner has in mind to install their ground and pole-mounted equipment within the rear parking lot of the lease area. The fenced facility and its ground equipment will not be directly visible from Huntley-Dundee Road due to the facility being located over 500 feet from the front property line, behind the existing building.
An aeronautical study revealed that the monopole structure would not be a hazard to air navigation. In addition, the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) has supplied the village with a āDetermination of No Hazard to Air Navigationā letter that states that the installation of a beacon light atop the tower is not required.
On Sept. 25, the Plan Commission conducted a public hearing to consider the petitionerās request. No community members testified in favor or opposition to the request, which therefore allowed the Plan Commission to move to approve the petition by a vote of four to one alongside some conditions for Vertical Bridge to follow.
Trustees will be requested to move on a motion for an ordinance approving a special use permit for the wireless telecommunication service facility and tower.
Under the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) regulations, the telecommunication service facility will not interfere with any form of communications, including but not limited to, landline phones, cable and satellite television, and radio broadcasts, stated village staff.
