Mike Ciffone, a Sun City resident, remarked about the elegantly-decorated Prairie Lodge and noted the decorated bar in the Fountainview area. Sun City Sunflower Garden Charter Club members are responsible for many of the trees and holiday decorations.
Ciffone said, “First and foremost, I would like to thank our Board of Directors, as they responded to community input concerning the Welcome Center and rescinded to remove the bar.
This area is the grandest area of the Lodge. It could not have been done without community input and Dottie Harrison’s courage to bring a motion to rescind the vote and the four other members to do what was right.”
Ciffone posted on the Wildflower Lake Facebook page when the board voted to remove the bar. Ciffone credits that Facebook page with providing information to many residents.
He said, “I ask for those in the community, next time you’re in the Lodge, take a look at the wonderful job the Garden Club did in decorating the Welcome Center and the architectural feature in the corner. Our entire lodge is a monument to arts and crafts style, right down to the light fixtures and should never be altered but meticulously maintained.”
