Russ Becker finished a castle that took 15 years to build. It was featured in My Sun Day News in June 2022. Since then, residents and friends have encouraged him to keep on building. He has completed nine buildings. Recently, his finished projects included the Pentagon and the St. Louis Arch.
Becker researches the building’s architectural features and blueprints for his designs. His precision is evident in his replication of the Pentagon building. His dedication is equally impressive, as he began construction on April 25, 2023, and completed it on November 25, 2023.
The scale of Becker’s projects is not to be underestimated. The Pentagon, for instance, weighs 74 pounds and 8 ounces, including the wood used for construction and an impressive 10,133 pennies.
“I started the St. Louis Gateway Arch on May 5, 2023, and completed it about a year later on April 2, 2024,” he said.
The details of the Arch include 16 viewing windows that look out on downtown St. Louis, the Mississippi River, and Illinois. Becker said, “This project included 2942 Pennies, weighing 18 pounds 6 ounces.”
